Description
SUMMARY
The Sales Consultant Is responsible for developing new business for Public Agency Retirement Services (PARS) in the governmental retirement plan and trust marketplace by building long-term relationships, meeting with prospective and current clients to determine their needs, designing retirement plans/trusts to fit those needs, and overseeing the implementation of those plans/trusts. The Sales Consultant reports to the Executive Vice President for Consulting.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develop new client relationships based on assigned target agencies through telephone calls and emails, face-to-face and virtual meetings, attendance at governing board and committee meetings, representing PARS at conferences, trade shows, industry events, luncheons/dinner events and other sales opportunities.
•Oversee the implementation of new plans/trusts as the assigned "Lead" ensuring that the Consulting and Plan Support staff have sufficient information to successfully implement the new plans/trusts. This process includes (but is not limited to) oversight and review of analysis and marketing materials, presentations, communication materials, plan documentation, and plan funding.
•Work with clients to design appropriate and successful retirement plans based on the needs of the client and develop clear plan summary language that communicates the agreed upon plan to the client and PARS staff.
•Maintain ongoing client relationship with agencies with previously implemented plans/trusts based on assigned target agencies.
•Assist Senior Management with the development of the overall company-wide and focused (agency-type and/or region specific) marketing strategy based on current economic, and legislative and demographic developments of the target market and governmental retirement plan/trust field.
•Work with PARS Marketing Communications and Analyst staff as necessary to provide suggestions and review of PARS Marketing Materials and Analysis Program results.
•Participate in PARS events, conferences, and webinars by developing and presenting industry-relevant content
•Perform other specialized projects as assigned.
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics
•5 highly successful years in sales, preferably in governmental agency sales/consulting
•Excellence in:

Attention to detail
•Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time
•Must be extremely detail oriented and possess strong work ethic
•Extensive amount of travel is required, including long days and evenings, overnight travel, and occasional weekend stays
•Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
•Knowledge of governmental retirement plans and trusts preferred
•Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation or coursework preferred
•California Life Agent License is highly desirable
Salary Description

Salary estimate range (DOE) is $90k-$140k annually
